Gwénaëlle, Applications IT Engineer

The applications IT engineer designs and develops computer programs and applications

What is your background?

After a scientific high school diploma, I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to get an associate degree. My first job consisted in working on a system responsible for driving robots for feeding livestock. It is in 1999, after responding to an ad on a local newspaper, that I was hired by BA Systèmes. At that time, the company had only sixty collaborators.

What does your job involve?

As Applications IT Engineer within the integration service, my job consists in adapting AGV Manager, our standard supervision software, to meet the needs of our customers. For example, I set up the attribution rules so that the missions will be performed by the nearest AGV and that the flows be realized on time. I foresee the specific interfaces that will be needed by the customer to run his system, etc.

What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?

I like dealing with people! This is certainly the most important thing for me. Integration is in regular contact with customers. I like to put my ability to adapt at the service of our customers and answer questions to people who might not be comfortable with our system. When we deliver AGVs, we do not forget that we deliver a working tool to our customers. Sometimes (customers) they may feel overwhelmed by complex systems. My role is then to support them finding solutions so that they make themselves familiar with their work tool.

Since that portrait, Gwénaëlle has joined the customer service at IT Front Desk where she can continue to advise and help BA Systèmes’ customers.
